    What is Therapeutic Exercise?

Exercise with intent — not just intensity.

Therapeutic exercise focuses on HOW your body moves, adapts, and performs in daily life, whether that’s school, sport, work, or community participation.

    Guided by an Occupational Therapist

Sessions are led by a qualified Occupational Therapist, ensuring movement is clinically informed, purposeful, and tailored to support participation, performance, and long-term outcomes.

    Designed for real world performance

Sessions focus on skills that transfer beyond the gym, helping individuals perform consistently across different environments, demands, and pressures — not just achieve fitness goals.

Built around function, regulation, and strength

Exercise is designed to improve how the body moves, regulates, and adapts — supporting strength, endurance, and control required to perform optimally in daily life.

    Progression with purpose

Exercise is structured and progressed intentionally, supporting capacity, confidence, resilience, and sustained participation over time — in both individual and group settings.

    WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

Therapy That Translates to Everyday Life

Occupational Therapists work with individuals to build the skills, capacity, and confidence needed to engage in meaningful activities, including self-care, school, work, sport, and community life.

    The Process

    The OPH Pathway

An OT-led pathway from assessment to intervention, designed to optimise function, performance, and real-world outcomes.

    1. Assessment of Current Function

We assess current levels of functioning to understand how an individual moves, regulates, and performs across daily life, sport, school, and work. This allows us to identify strengths, challenges, and key areas to optimise function and performance.

    2. Collaborative Intervention for Performance and Function

Intervention is developed collaboratively with the individual and relevant supports, focusing on targeted strategies, therapeutic movement, and skill development to improve function, build capacity, and support meaningful performance outcomes.

    3. Re-Evaluation to Optimise Outcomes

Progress is regularly reviewed to measure outcomes, refine goals, and adjust intervention, ensuring improvements translate into consistent performance and participation across real-world environments.

    Week eight

You notice shifts. Small wins add up. Confidence grows with each session.

    Month four

Real change shows up in how you move, feel, and show up daily.

    Beyond

You've built momentum. The work becomes part of who you are now.

    Questions

Find answers about how we work and what to expect

Is this a gym or a fitness studio?

No. Optimal Performance Hub is an occupational therapy–led space. While sessions include strength and conditioning, they are clinically guided and focused on function, regulation, and real-life performance - not aesthetics or generic fitness programming.

    Is this suitable for athletes?

Yes! We work with developing and competitive athletes to support:
    - Performance and movement efficiency
    - Recovery and nervous system regulation
    - Injury prevention and longevity
    - Return-to-play and load management
Our OT-led approach ensures training supports performance without compromising long-term capacity.

Is this suitable if I’m new to exercise?

Yes. You don’t need to be “fit enough” to start. Sessions are structured, supportive, and guided to meet you where you are.

Are your health services covered by private health insurance?

Yes, our Occupational Therapy assessments, report writing and intervention sessions are covered by private health insurance, depending on your level of cover. We recommend checking with your insurer for specific rebates, and our team is happy to assist with any documentation or claims processing

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in and bring a water bottle, a towel and a mat (if you have one available to you)

Do I need to be injured or have a diagnosis?

No. You do not need an injury, diagnosis, or referral to attend therapeutic exercise sessions. We support athletes, NDIS participants, and everyday people who want movement that feels purposeful and supportive.

    Can NDIS participants attend?

NDIS self-managed and plan-managed participants are able to use their Occupational Therapy funding to access Occupational Therapy assessments, report writing and intervention sessions but will need to privately fund therapeutic exercise classes as they are not covered under the NDIS.

What happens in a therapeutic exercise session?

Therapeutic exercise sessions are 45-minute sessions that utilise body weight and resistance exercises to focus on Strength and movement quality, regulation, body awareness, and confidence, as well as consistency and capacity. Exercises are adapted to individual needs, even in group settings and you’ll always be offered options and guidance.

Are there student or team rates?

Yes, we offer a concession membership for students, and team discounts can be arranged upon discussion. Get in touch with us to explore the best option for your needs.

    How do I get started?

The easiest way to begin is through our Foundation Member Launch Offer — 14 days of unlimited therapeutic exercise for $39.
